TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LETTING
Damage
Guests are responsible for the cottage whilst there and for any damage caused by themselves, children, pets or other guests. The housekeeper has been asked to check for damage on handover and will call in a carpenter or decorator if there is a need. In accepting these terms and conditions you agree to pay for any repairs or replacements necessary, however caused during your stay.
Neighbours
Tighcladich is one of a scattered group of 4 cottages. The area is very peaceful and guests are asked to keep noise to an absolute minimum in order to preserve the tranquillity of the area.
Linen
All bed linen is provided. Guests will need, however, to bring their own towels.
Parking
Guests are asked to bring a maximum of two cars to Tighcladich, so that the shore road, which is used by others, remains clear.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in any part of the cottage.
Drainage
Drainage is to a septic tank. No insoluble material (e.g. S.T.s, tampons etc) should be flushed down the lavatory, as the drains will block. Sanitary disposal bags are provided in the bathroom cabinet. Ecover products are provided for your use.
Electricity
No charge is made for electricity and guests are asked to leave on the electricity to the freezer, the fridge and cooker.
Keys
Keys will be provided to you by our housekeeper for your arrival at Tighcladich
Letting Period
The normal letting period is from 4 pm on the Saturday until 11 am on a subsequent Saturday. The minimum letting period is one week, although minibreaks may be available in the winter.
Maximum Number of Guests
The maximum number of guests is 6, including both children and adults.
Dogs/Pets
Dogs and other pets are only allowed with our written permission.
Cleaning
It is a firm condition of letting that guests leave the cottage in a clean condition, just as they would expect to find it. Cleaning materials are provided. The housekeeper will call after the letting to check the inventory, and change bed linen.
Food
We leave some tinned food and other comestibles (eg salt, pepper etc) in the cottage. If guests do find themselves forced to use it then they are asked to replace it, as we expect to find it there on our arrival.
Beach/Loch
At high tide the sea is within 20yds of the front door. Parents are warned that the loch deepens quickly and represents a potential hazard to children. No liability can be accepted for any accidents which occur. We leave boats at the property, but they are not available for use by guests.
Stairs
The cottage is a traditional Highland home and the stairs are narrow and steep. They must be treated with caution, especially by those with young children, and are unsuitable for the disabled. One double bedroom is, however, on the ground floor next to a bathroom. |
